What you’ll bring:

The External Communications Manager (Latin America) is an individual contributor who is responsible for the corporate positioning of the business in Latin America, including Colombia, Dominican Republic, Chile and Guatemala. They will support and lead crisis and issues management work and develop and implement insights and issues-based campaign activity aligned to the wider in-region business strategy.

They will work with the Director of Corporate and International Communications to deliver work originated both in-region and at the enterprise/global level. They will be a member of the Corporate Affairs & Communications team globally, and work closely with multiple stakeholders, including the global and regional marketing teams.

The role includes working with senior executives and directors to develop the TransUnion Latin America corporate story, both sharing and learning from best practice and wider enterprise corporate messaging. Internal communications isn’t the focus of this role, but where corporate reputation or project-specific work dictates, this will be required.

The candidate will need a strong understanding of local media as the role will manage external PR agencies and budgets.

Role location: Based in our Bogota, Colombia office and also working remotely as part of our flexible working policy (currently two days a week in the office).

Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication skills, including ability to write, pitch and present compelling content.
  • Strong track record of developing, executing and measuring the success of strategic communication programs leveraging a variety of digital and traditional channels.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence.
  • Quick assimilation of complicated and technical information.
  • Well organised self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong knowledge of media in Latin America.
  • Degree educated and relevant professional training.
  • 7+ years of experience in similar role(s) (agency or in-house – preferably both)
  • Fluent English speaker with additional Spanish language skills.

Preferred Requirements:

Project management (formal or informal)

Experience of other complementary disciplines (e.g., social media and other communication channels/marketing disciplines)

Experience working in information services and/or financial services

Impact you’ll make:

  • Develop and deliver an integrated Latin America PR strategy, with alignment to wider international and global frameworks/processes.
  • Work closely with regional marketing to support wider research (product and service) PR work.
  • Support senior spokespeople and coach them on best practices regarding interview techniques and key messages.
  • Protect the company’s reputation as a key member of the crisis/incident communications team.
  • Advise on wider related communication matters (speeches/events etc.) and provide strategic guidance to senior leaders and wider functions as needed.
